19 November 2009

Today was no ordinary day. When I went inside the room, Mr John and Mr Harry were sitting in what used to be Mr Sadrakh's seat. Then they questioned us about sharps, flats and chords........... When it was my turn..............I didn't answer correctly(or rather didn't know the answer)Mr John told me to go ask a person to answer the question and if it was correct, then we get to sit down.

18 Novmeber 2009

Today was a usual day. First attendance, then learned stuff about sharps and flats and chords. Then Mr Sadrakh questioned us to test our skills. So nothing out of the ordinary happened today............

12 November 2009

If I remember clearly(because I didn't write the reflection), Mr Sadrakh told us to write our reflection about all the assessments we've done so far. He told us to fill all the spaces in the reflection. Mine wasn't really full but it was almost full. Then, he taught us about flats.......... It's the same as the sharps, except its in reverse.

11 November 2009..........Day of the assessment (part 2)

Today, I was ready for the assessment redo. I don't feel that nervous anymore, and I was also 'not' the 1st person to be chosen to perform. Almost most of the 1st row did the assessment redo, but a few in the back row.

5 November 2009..........Day of the assessment (part 1)

Phew...........Today was a nerve wrecking day  yo!!! Want to know why? Because we just had our assessment and we had to perform in front of the class.............I was shaking and shivering so much so i wanted to redo the assessment, just like......uuummm........ Vienna, Jonathan, Jennifer and a few others which I can't remember at all......... Oh, and by the way....... I WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO PERFORM!!!!!

4 November 2009

Today, Mr Sadrakh thought us about flats, their a bit similar to sharps except its in reversed form. Then Mr Sadrakh told us to copy our final draft, however, we had no more time so we had to do it at home.

29 October 2009

I tried to come to class a bit earlier to finish my Finale paper(since I can't do it at home for "some" particular reasons) but time flies by so fast because when i asked to borrow the computer, half of the class was already there! No to mention the speed of the computer!!!! I mean it was so slow that when I barely finished I row, class started!! So I asked Mr Sadrkah if its okay to borrow the computer in the teachers room and after a few minutes, I was done!! But when I came out, a person from every instrument performed their piece.

28 October 2009

Today, Mr Sadrakh explained every single detail about the assessment paper and performance we were supposed to do after a few weeks.............. And Mr Herry explained more about the Finale software.................I still don't understand why we can't just write it I mean c'mon!

22 October 2009

In music class, Mr Sadrakh told us to make the lyrics for our 16 bars pentatonic scale.......... my lyrics were quite bad and embarrassing so I didn't want anyone to see it.........Oh, and also Mr Sadrakh and Mr Herry explained how to download a software called Finale 2009

21 October 2009

Today, in music class, Mr Sadrakh told us to copy down our 16 bars pentatonic scale to the assessment paper. The title was good but I think creating the lyrics will be a bit hard though.......

15 October 2009

Today, in music class, Mr Sadrakh made us sing the well-known Indonesian song "Gundul-Gundul Pacul", although I don't remember ever hearing that song. I'm not really that food in singing also.

14 October of 2009

On music class, Mr Sadrakh checked our pentatonic scale. Then, he told us to make another one with the pentatonic scale 2 this time. It took a while to finish it, altough i don't have any idea how it sounds like. Then, in instrument class, the usual thing happened.

Term 2's 2nd music session

In music theory, Mr Sadrakh taught us more about the pentatonic scales 1 and 2. I'm still a bit confused tough because Mr Sadrakh gave us homework, to make 16 bars using pentatonic scales 1 and 2. And this time, he told us to use chords too! And then on instrument class, I tried playing silent night but it was a bit hard.............................Oh well, guess I have to practice more!

The beginning of a new era.....................

I'm writing my blog the day after yesterday because I forgot to post my new music reflection post but Tristan reminded me to do it so I'm doing now at Technology class. Yesterday, was the first day of our first music class. Mr Sadrakh taught us something new, something called the pentatonic scale. It was pretty confusing for me and it's more complicated than the major scales. For me that is. In instument class, Mr Sadrakh told us to play our violin and that was what happened on the first music class of the term.......,.

Last music class for Term 1

Today in music class, Mr Sadrakh  explained more about the C Major scale and more, like the G major scale and the E major scale. Then, he gave us homework due for Term 2! But before we lft for instrument class, Mr Hery told us to do the Developmental Booklet(even if he did explain about it yesterday). But since today will be the last instrument class in Term 1, Mr Sadrakh didn't waste that much time. In instrument class, Mr Sadrakh asked us who got the lowest score for the performance and nobody got any low marks. And then it was lunch time so we had to go............. Until next time folks!

Music Reflection of Wednesday 9 September

Today on music, we did the usual, checking of names and resources. I also got, or rather bought a new violin from Mr Sadrakh a few days ago. I was quite happy when i got the violin. After that, Mr Sadrakh told us the score for the solo performance and most people got good marks. Then Mr Sadrakh revised the C major scale and why it's called a major scale. Mr Sadrakh gave us homework on the G major scale and how come it's not like the C major scale. We only got a few minutes for instrument because Mr Hery had to make an important announcement of the Development Booklet which we have to type or reflection and send it to Mr Hery and Mr Sadrakh. In instrument class,(as you already know) Mr Sadrakh discussed about the scores and who got the lowest but nobody got the lowest........And that is all

Music Reflection Thursday 3-9-2009

Today, was assessment day. So the first thing i saw when i entered the room was people practicing. So I also practiced before the assessment. Before the assessment, Mr Sadrakh gave us the criteria for the assessment. Then, it was time for the assessment. All we had to do was perform with the integument. It was easy, but, we all have to perform alone. 1st was violin, 2nd was guitar, 3rd was woodwind and the last was piano. Mr Harry Wisnu, recorded all the performances while Mr Sadrakh played the background music. After that, Mr Harry's brother played the trumpet 2 times. Then, we wanted him to play the French Horn. While preparing, Mr Sadrakh told us the scores for the presentation and the individual work. Then, Mr Harry's brother played the French Horn. Before we went for lunch, most students wanted to Mr Sadrakh to play the Electric violin but he said he'll do it next week. Mr Herry told us that Mr Harry's brother will be coach of the brass ensemble.

First few weeks of music

I don't really remember how many weeks since the first music class but, i do remember what we did. On the first day, everyone began choosing their instruments, I didn't really know what to pick since they don't have any vocal, Tristan suggested that I should choose the violin. So after thinking about it, I decided to pick the violin. Then on instrument class, Mr Sadrakh showed us the violin, but, since we're new, Mr Sadrakh told other students to play if I'm not mistaken. On the next music class, I think that Mr Sadrakh introduced to us some traditional music. The music is called "O Ina Ni Keke"On instrument class, Mr Sadrakh showed us how to hold the violin and the bow. On the next music session, we practiced O Ina Ni Keke and kept on practicing and on instrument class, Mr Sadrakh gave us(the new students) our first song to play and he said we had to practice at home. The song is "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Tristan helped me on the 1st few notes. On the next music session, Mr Sadrakh gave us a new song, it's called "Apuse". It's another traditional music, but shorter than O Ina Ni Keke. Then, on instrument class, Mr Sadrakh told each of us to play a piece. On the next music session, Mr Sadrakh told us to sing the Apuse song for practice. Then, on instrument class, I was able to play all the songs Mr Sadrakh gave me with some help from Tristan. On the next session, Mr Sadrakh told us to make a Power Point about a certain type of music. My group chose Sundanese music. On instrument class, Mr Sadrakh gave me a song called "Song of the wind". The middle part was tricky though but i could do it. On the past few weeks, Mr Sadrakh gave us some homework and we checked it altogether until it was time to present. My group was the 2nd to perform. Most of the other groups didn't get to present for some reasons. Now this week, Mr Sadrakh told us to get ready and practice our instruments because he said we are going to perform for our assessment.
